Hi, I’m Dani
I am an artist and have been ever since I can remember. I have always loved creating beautiful and unique things, using different types of mediums and techniques, including pyrography, textiles, sculpting, digital art and print.
I create art from a small studio in Hampshire, shared with my family and whatever wildlife wanders in.
No AI. No shortcuts. Just me.
Every line, every stitch and every burn mark started with my own hand. Nothing here is generated or traced. It takes longer that way, but it’s hand made and unique.
Pyrography
A hot iron across English wood. One line at a time, with no undo.
Textiles
Corsets boned and laced by hand. Cushion covers and tea towels drawn first, then cut, hemmed and packaged.
Fine art
Mindful artistic creations, in small numbered editions.
Digital papers
Drawn by hand first. Yes, these too.

Dani, Creating, in the studio
The mandala on the drafting board has taken months and is not finished. The studio is not tidy and rarely is. Fred is asleep on the armrest, the air smells like burnt wood.
What leaves the studio is always finished to perfection.
How it started
I grew up in South Africa and trained at the National School of the Arts in Johannesburg. In 2002 I moved to England, and I now work from a studio at home in Hampshire.
How I choose
The question I get asked most is how a piece was done. The honest answer is that I let the subject decide. If an idea wants heat and wood, it gets pyrography. If it wants depth, it gets oil paint. Some things need to be held, so they become sculpture or cloth. Some are drawn on a screen. I have never seen the point of picking one and staying there.
A few of the mediums that I enjoy working with are:
- Pyrography, burnt into English wood
- Textiles, for the things you pick up
- Fine art, for depth and texture
- Digital papers, drawn by the same hand
Who else is in here
I share the studio with Fred, our orange furry son, who has four paws and a tail. Outside there are squirrels, pigeons, crows and one robin who has decided the garden is his. They help to inspire my work more often than I plan to let them.
