This is a small site run by one person. I have written this in plain English rather than legal boilerplate, because I would rather you actually read it.
Who I am
Dinni Doll is a two-person art business based in Hampshire, England, and I am the person responsible for the information this website handles. If you want to ask me anything about this page, use the contact form.
What this site collects
If you are just looking at pages, the site itself is not collecting anything about you. My hosting company keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address, your browser and which pages were requested, for security and for keeping the site running.
If you send me a message through the contact form, I receive your name, your email address, your message and whether you ticked the commission box. That goes straight to my inbox as an email. It is not stored in a database on this website.
Cookies
There are two sorts on this site at the moment.
- Consent. When you answer the cookie banner, your answer is remembered so you are not asked again on every page.
- Security. My firewall plugin sets cookies to tell real visitors from things trying to break in.
There is no advertising, no tracking across other websites, and at the time of writing no analytics of any kind. If I add analytics later, which I probably will, this page and the cookie banner will change first. The full technical list is on the cookie policy.
Buying things
Nothing is sold on this website. Orders happen on Etsy, which is a separate company and responsible for its own handling of your information, including your payment details, which I never see. There is more about that on how orders work.
Keeping it safe
The site runs over HTTPS, sits behind a firewall and malware scanner, and is backed up. Emails you send me live in my email account, which has two factor authentication on it. None of that makes anything perfect, but it is not nothing either.
How long I keep things
Messages stay in my inbox until they are no longer useful, which for a commission enquiry might be a year or two and for a question about postage is about a fortnight. If you want me to delete something sooner, ask and I will.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or object to me holding it at all. Ask through the contact form and I will do it. If you think I have handled something badly you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this page
When something about the site changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top will tell you when that last happened.
